Brazilian Juninho was named the best Under-23 player in the world in Football 7 Stars, season 2016. The Maringá Athlete was the great highlight of the team in international competitions. A two-stage participant of the Circuit of the Americas, Juninho won the artillery in both.
The year 2016 for Juninho was almost perfect. With Maringá's shirt the athlete was the top scorer of the Copa Sul and helped the team to reach the semifinals of the competition. Already at the end of the season Juninho returned to shine. In the League of the Americas, the young player again was top scorer and this time led the team to the runner-up.
In the dispute for the prize of better player Sub-23, Juninho surpassed the Mexican Eddie Sanchez, the Peruvian Ian Simich and the Uruguayan Gaston Laduche.
