The city of Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, has been officially confirmed as the host of the next edition of the Liga das Américas Football 7, the largest continental competition in the discipline worldwide. The tournament will be held from November 19 to 22, in the adult category, and is part of the official calendar of the International Football 7 Federation, reinforcing its international status and global relevance.
Contested since 2013, the Liga das Américas will reach a historic milestone in its upcoming edition by offering, for the first time, a total prize pool of US$200,000, to be distributed among the top eight teams in the competition. The champion will receive US$100,000, while teams finishing from second to eighth place will also be awarded prize money on a progressive scale, further increasing the tournament’s competitive level and international appeal.
Registrations are now open, and the expectation is to welcome 32 teams from countries across Latin America, maintaining the tournament’s tradition of diversity and high-level competition. Corinthians of Brazil are the current champions. Teams interested in securing a spot can already contact the organization’s customer service center for further information and reservations, in what promises to be a landmark event in the history of continental Football 7.
