FOOTBALL 7 HISTORY: In 2012, Brazil defeated Italy in a rematch in the final of the World Cup

The 2012 Football 7 World Cup, was held in Rio de Janeiro, at an Arena set on the city’s Sambodrome. The Brazilian national team, who had lost to the Italians in the final one year before, joined the competition in the search of the historic title, and with the objective to overcome the Italian team.

In the great final, one more time, both teams have clashed in one of the greatest derbies of football.  The match was close and ended up tied. In the shoot-out decision, the Brazilians performed better and got the title. Mexico was third after winning Argentina.

The next edition of the World Cup is confirmed to December 2018 in the city of Curitiba – Brazil. It may count with participation of 16 national teams and the main international athletes of the discipline.
