The Brazilian Association of Football 7 Clubs won the competition against Colombia and Peru to host the next edition of the Copa América de Futebol 7 in April 2019. The event will be attended by 12 countries with a total of 20 teams, being 12 males and 08 females. The next season's competition will be selective for the World Cup to be played in Barcelona (ESP) in 2019.
The last two editions of the competition were held in Lima (Peru) with the participation of 10 countries and Brazil won the men's and women's runners-up. The International Football 7 Federation (FIF7) chose Brazil after the presentation of the project that predicts that the competition will have 02 arenas and simultaneous transmission of all the games of the championship.
"Brazil has always hosted major international football events and is a benchmark in the organization of competitions of this size. The Copa América has grown a lot and the demand for an ever-growing structure is a determining factor in setting the venue for the event. project of the Brazilian Association is incredible and we are confident that it will be executed as planned and they will have until September to define the host city of the event", said Fabian Canaveris, president of FIF7.
