Grêmio is the great champion of the League of the Americas 2020. The conquest was last Saturday (15), at Centro Esportivo Rodrigo Mendes, in Porto Alegre, when they beat Sporting de Guatemala in the final by 5 to 1. The tricolor counted in his cast with Falcão, the greatest futsal player of all time, and the football idol of the club Douglas.
The game started with Grêmio having possession of the ball and Sporting scoring half the field. The Guatemalans opened the scoring with Eduardo Archilla hitting a low shot in the corner of goalkeeper Risco. The tricolor intensified the game and soon drew with Dico. Sporting tried to attack on the counterattacks, but the brazilian team defensive system was adjusted. Near the halftime, Juninho received on the right and crossed for Cojak to turn the game around.
Grêmio dominated the game in the second half. In two counterattacks, the Brazilian team killed the game. Douglas received at the entrance of the area and hit the exit of goalkeeper Díaz to make the third of the tricolor. Luiz Guilherme scored the fourth goal after a stolen ball in midfield. To close the score, the best player of the competition Iago Soares hit a beautiful shot in the angle.
