International Football 7 Federation announces Intercontinental Cup 2026 in Rome

The International Football 7 Federation has confirmed the organization of the Intercontinental Cup in Rome, the capital of Italy, from July 30 to August 2. The event will be held exclusively in the men’s category and is part of the Federation’s official international calendar, further strengthening the presence and growth of Football 7 on the European stage.

The competition will be divided into two distinct categories. The main category will feature national teams, while the second will be the Master category, for players aged 35 and over, composed of clubs. The organizers expect the participation of 12 national teams in the main competition and eight clubs in the master category, bringing together experienced and representative names from international Football 7.

The Intercontinental Cup will have international broadcast coverage and will be organized through a partnership between the Italian Calcio a 8 League and the International Football 7 Federation. The event is part of the Federation’s strategic four-year plan for the development of Football 7 in Europe, consolidating Rome as one of the continent’s key hubs for alternative football formats.
